Advance Diploma in Fashion Design

In the first year, students learn the fundamentals of fashion illustration, including model drawing, croquis techniques, and fashion sketching.

They explore the elements of design, understanding fashion principles, color theory, fabric texture, and garment styling. The pattern making and garment construction segment introduces students to sewing machine operations, stitching, seams, and fabric cutting techniques.

The history of fashion and Indian costumes module covers the evolution of clothing, traditional Indian textiles, and the influence of global fashion on modern apparel. Students also study textile science, focusing on fibers, yarns, fabric types, dyeing, printing, and sustainable innovations.

Additionally, they receive training in computer applications, where they learn Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, and CAD software for garment pattern development.

In the second year, students work on portfolio development, where they create mood boards, design fashion collections, and develop client profiles.

The fashion marketing and merchandising module covers fashion retail management, brand development, e-commerce, and digital marketing. The advanced draping and garment construction segment teaches students to design garments such as gowns, lehengas, coats, and jumpsuits, focusing on fabric manipulation and layering techniques.

Students also study dyeing and printing techniques, exploring textile dyeing processes, traditional Indian textile printing, and sustainable fabric innovations. The traditional Indian textiles and embroidery segment includes an in-depth study of regional handlooms, embroidery techniques like Kantha, Phulkari, Chikankari, and Bandhani, and their application in contemporary fashion.

The second-year curriculum also includes advanced computer applications, where students learn 3D fashion rendering, digital textile printing, and advanced CAD software for apparel design.
